Your photographs, illustrations or designs can vary wildly in color from one display to another, and even more during printing, where any misstep can represent a big waste of money. An uncalibrated screen is an unknown variable. The monitor is the main place of interaction between creative professional and digital work. To base all your decisions regarding color on an unknown variable is the same as drawing on paper with the lights turned off. With the LUT still held within ColourSpace navigate back to the Hardware Options menu, and select the desired LUT from within the Select LUT options, and Upload.Absolutely, yes! Ideally, we all should work on calibrated displays that allow us to evaluate our work according to a universal standard. ![]() (Possible data connection issues when both a USB and HDMI connection are made to the ColourSpace laptop, defined above.) LUT UploadĪfter profiling, a Calibration LUT can be generated as normal within ColourSpace LUT Tools. #Spectraview 2 serial generatorWhile NEC displays can be calibrated using ColourSpace via a LUT upload, the actual profiling must be performed via a an external patch generator.Īny patch generator can be used, including direct HDMI/DVI/DisplayPort connection from the ColourSpace laptop. To perform Brightness/Contrast/Black-Level changes use NEC's own MultiProfiler Software, using the "synchronise" function in MultiProfiler when switching from ColourSpace to MultiProfiler to force the re-reading all of the relevant settings that the ColourSpace Unity Bypass LUT will have changed. Alternatively, reset any necessary settings, such as Brightness/Contrast/Black-Level, after the Unity Bypass data Upload. Should it be desired that settings other than the LUTs remain as set, upload a real Bypass 3D LUT (generated via LUT Tools/LUT Management/New), as that will only null the relevant LUTs, as selected. Note: Potentially, when Unity Bypass data is Uploaded all settings will be nullified, not just the relevant LUTs. (Or to keep things simple just select Preset #1 if you selected "Picture Mode #1" previously, etc.)
